Ron Helwer started Shur-Gro in Brandon in 1968. He was originally a fuel and fertilizer dealer. Ron was among the first to bring flotation equipment into Canada and also very early on saw the trend to multi-outlet dealerships. Shur-Gro has been dedicated to providing exceptional service to their growers over the years.
Vince Munro ran a coffee shop, barbershop and pool hall in Westbourne before expanding into the fertilizer business in 1958.
Throughout the years Munro's has sold fertilizer and crop protection products and is known for their reliable and knowledgeable agronomic advice.
As a locally owned company, we believe in supporting the communities where we do business. One of the best ways to do this is with our time. Many Shur-Gro and Munro people are leaders in their communities, donating their skills to local 4-H groups, youth sports, Chamber of Commerce's, local municipalities and business groups.
