Cleanfarms 2025: Agricultural Recycling Program
Sep 19, 2025

Manitoba Farmers can make a real impact by recycling their agricultural packaging at a Shur-Gro Farm Services location before October 31, 2025. From pesticide containers to seed bags, the commitment to sustainability is growing stronger every season.
What You Can Recycle: Cleanfarms continues to accept a wide range of agricultural packaging materials:
- Pesticide and fertilizer containers (up to 23L)
- Pesticide and fertilizer totes and drums
- Seed, pesticide, and inoculant bags & large tote bags
How to Prepare Your Materials: To ensure your items are accepted, follow these simple steps:
- Rinse Thoroughly: Empty and triple or pressure rinse containers to prevent product waste.
- Remove and Bag:
- Discard booklets
- Bag containers and tie them closed
- Keep caps and closures in place
- Do not remove cages from 1,000L totes
- Ensure bags are completely empty
- Bundle tote bags with twine
- Return Responsibly: Drop off your properly prepared materials at participating ag retailers. Be sure to confirm which items they accept before heading out.
Helpful Reminders:
- Free collection bags are available at your local Shur-Gro Farm Services
- Seed treatment containers must be bagged separately with caps on
- Large scale farms may qualify for free on-farm pickup (volume requirements apply). Visit cleanfarms.ca for more information
