Cleanfarms 2025: Agricultural Recycling Program

Manitoba Farmers can make a real impact by recycling their agricultural packaging at a Shur-Gro Farm Services location before October 31, 2025. From pesticide containers to seed bags, the commitment to sustainability is growing stronger every season. 

What You Can Recycle: Cleanfarms continues to accept a wide range of agricultural packaging materials: 

  • Pesticide and fertilizer containers (up to 23L) 
  • ​Pesticide and fertilizer totes and drums 
  • Seed, pesticide, and inoculant bags & large tote bags 

How to Prepare Your Materials: To ensure your items are accepted, follow these simple steps: 

  1. Rinse Thoroughly: Empty and triple or pressure rinse containers to prevent product waste.
  2. Remove and Bag: 
    • Discard booklets 
    • Bag containers and tie them closed 
    • Keep caps and closures in place 
    • Do not remove cages from 1,000L totes 
    • Ensure bags are completely empty 
    • ​Bundle tote bags with twine 
  3. Return Responsibly: Drop off your properly prepared materials at participating ag retailers. Be sure to confirm which items they accept before heading out. 

Helpful Reminders: 

  • Free collection bags are available at your local Shur-Gro Farm Services 
  • Seed treatment containers must be bagged separately with caps on 
  • Large scale farms may qualify for free on-farm pickup (volume requirements apply). Visit cleanfarms.ca for more information
